The preliminary rates given above have been submitted to appropriate campus offices and are expected to be approved. Per-event charges are designed to cover Calit2's non-personnel costs for the spaces (preparation, cleanup, damage repair, and related costs) based on actual, but perhaps atypical, experiences in the startup year 2005-06. The proposed charges are also comparable to those for similar spaces elsewhere on campus. Careful records of actual expenses will be kept for 2006-2007 and future rates adjusted accordingly.
